Why get involved ?

Dear South Council.

I just wanted to take a second and wish everyone a great 2008!! The way you will get more out of the south council is by putting more into it. A suggestion is to get involved with helping at our regular meeting and/or getting involved in one of our committes. Some of the committees do not require alot of your time. But when more people help out with a little of their time -- it adds up. And its a great way to get to know other members of our group. So everyone have a great 2008 and see you on Tuesday.

Involvement equals exposure! What a great way to get your name out in the business community...become involved.

I am happy to say that the Membership Retention Committee just added two new members. John Robinson, Navigator Mortgage and Jen Errair, Admin 911 are ready to make phone calls and mentor new members!

If you are interested in joining our committee, please see Mary Pat Stocks, Costco Wholesale.

I agree. Getting involved is the absolute best way to gain exposure. Making the best of the Chamber is all about making the room as small as possible. Personal interaction leads to trust and business partnerships.

Good morning South Council!

The month of January is already flying by & come March 15th, it will be my one year anniversary as a transplant from Connecticut to Jacksonville.

I want to thank the members of the South Council for making my transition to Jacksonville a relatively smooth one & I have been enjoying the networking & friendhips that have led to new business opportunities.

The South Council is growing rapidly & kudos to the Board for maintaining a business decorum that is an asset to participating South Council members.

I look forward to further establishing my roots here in Jax.

All the best!

Good Morning South Council,

As the new Programs Officer for 2008, I am excited about all the great opportunities to bring in new and original speakers & programs to the South Council Meetings. January was very exciting with Pat McManaman facilitating our discussion of the Vision for South Council Programs for 2008. The brain storming by all the members allowed us to put together some great speaker opportunities for year.

Dr. Locander was one of those opportunities and he came in strong. He had a fantastic presentation during our last meeting. Yes...I did visualize the surgeon as a man...shame on me.

Now the bar has been set and we have to go above and beyond in February. Our first speaker is going to be great with the following:

Feb 12th - Zelda Fraden - President of Fraden Produce; Business Trainer and Consultant. She will speak to us about "Creating a BluePrint for Life and Success".

Feb 26th: Will be another Networking meeting. Our Facilitator will be presenting the "5 Keys to Effective Networking" We are going to shake it up a little bit...so be prepared for something different. Bring plenty of business cards, and be prepared to talk with people you have never talked to before. Thats what networking is all about.

Thanks and Lets rock on for 2008!!! South Council Rules!!!

Hi Everyone,

What a great organization we're all involved in. Can't say it enough - GET INVOLVED - join a committee. The only way to get something out of any networking organization is to put something into it! You'll get to know people on a different level, you form a relationship with them, they trust you and then they do business with you. What better people to get to know than the ones you have lunch with every other week at Carrabbas.

Have a wonderful 2008 and have a great time while your SELLING!
